liberty 500W AND Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
« on: August 06, 2010, 08:01:31 pm »
Hi.

I have liberty 500W and Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3.

when i try to turn on the computer - it seems he's not getting power. in another computer (Intel E5200) the liberty work fine. only on my Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 its not working.

i try another psu (ezcool) on P55A-UD3 and its work!

it's probably somewhere between my liberty 500w and my gigabye ga-p55a-ud3. but why? liberty work good wish UD3?

It is probably the difference in power output between the different power supplies. I expect that the smaller one  is just not capable of running your Gigabyte setup.

The Enermax has a Fan out connector on the off shot it fixes your problem be sure to have that in the PWR_FAN header and even try it unconnected as its just for monitoring.

If you want my honest opinion both of the power supplies are a bit rubbish. Please don't think I am being nasty but it is better to know the truth. Too many good systems are lket down by poor PSUs. Often they end up burning out and taking half the system with them. I wouls d advise you to pay a little more and get a decent one. Corsair do a nice range along with Seasonic, Gigabyte and many others. Look for one about 600W at least and preferably with a single 12v rail. Sorry to be a bit brutal but I wouldn't want to lie to you. ;)

Enermax is ok but the power suplies that you have are not so good. The same as anything you get what you pay for and most companmies make budget end of the market versions.

Not tested with ELT400AWT , these power supplys are not at home

But i have never problems with this

Stupid but why not : Have you plug correctly the connectors , side power and also side motherboard ?

Have you tried to put directly to the ground the wire power on (green) ?

in another computer (Intel E5200) the liberty work fine.
Did this computer have a graphics card?
i try another psu (ezcool) on P55A-UD3 and its work!
What graphics card do you have that made the system work with that PSU?

When you have the 20+4 pin and the 4+4 pin for CPU be sure they go all the way in the plug for the board as they can be tight fitting sometimes.

Other then then that ga-p55a-ud3 don't like your PSU so time for a new one.
