H57M-USB3 - Can't achieve Post and on second motherboard

I don't know what's going on, but I am on my second motherboard (and CPU).  I have connected the bare-bones elements - power, cpu, fan, and 1 compatible RAM dimm - on a cardboard box.  I connected a VGA cable, turned on the power, and I still have a blank screen with this new motherboard.  The system simply does not post or make any beeps.  Anyone have any idea?

My guess is the PSU or a CPU that doesn't support graphics.

That's all.  I connected the bare bones to see if it would achieve post and beep something.  Nothing.

Yes I think that is the problem your CPU doesn't have graphics capabilities. You will either have to add a dedicated graphics card or change your CPU. By the way did you connect a buzzer to the motherboard as well?
These are the only Intel processors that are compatible with integrated graphics:

Hey. Thanks for the quick reply.  I have the 750, which doesn't support integrated as per your messages.   However, I have a graphics card (GEForce 465) that I added, but I cannot see anything as well (HDMI output on the card).  Don't I have to edit the motherboard Bios in order to use the PCI Express graphics card? If so, I won't be able to edit the bios to use the 3rd party graphics card because my CPU doesn't support integrated graphics.  What do you suggest?  I also didn't add a buzzer (I just looked at the motherboard and didn't notice a speaker; so I guess that's why I heard no beeps).  Thanks for your quick help!!

No problem. Right well that explains the no graphics and no beeps. The beeps are easilly fixed. I will check on the graphics.

Just checked and it shouldn't be the problem. The BIOS default is set to Disabled for the onboard VGA if no dedicated card is present.

Onboard VGA
Enables or disables the onboard graphics function.
Enable If No Ext PEG
Activates the onboard graphics only if no PCI Express graphics card is installed. (Default)

As you have a card in the slot it should see it. Make sure that the card is firmly fitted. Also fit a beeper so you know what is going on.

OK.  I will check it out.  I will have to go buy a beeper.  Perhaps HDMI is disabled on my graphics card and defaults to DVI; so I have to go buy a HDMI/DVI adaptor.  I'll let you know.    Thanks again!!
