GA-X58-UD5 rev1.0 Bios update problem
« on: September 02, 2010, 10:42:26 am »
Hello,

I have a gigabyte motherboard GA-X58-UD5 rev1.0 with i7 920 and F7 Bios version.

Well, I have decided to update Bios version to F12 (last version), and now it takes a lot of time to boot up.
I have windows and Linux, using GRUB to selected OS.

With F7 Bios version, to boot up Windows, it takes more or less 20 - 30 seconds.
With F12 Bios version, to boot up Windows, it takes more than 3 minutes.

I dont understand what is the problem.

Could somebody help me??

Best regards.

Is it just down to your new BIOS settings? Have you disabled the floppy disk seek at boot? Have you enabled "quick boot"?

Can you clarify the motherboard model please. The one you have given doesn't exist.

Thanks for the info. That model doesn't exist on the UK server. ::) I have just checked and the "Quick Boot" option isn't available in your BIOS.
