is my Mini ITX GA-H55N-USB3 dead?

Hi, I just received my brand new GA-H55N-USB3 mini itx motherboard today, the lights, Fans, etc start for a second them stop,

This is what I checked:

any Bends Contacts in the CPU, Clear CMOS. Tried a different PSU, I tried with and without Memory and is the same.

I did some tests with my other Gigabytes motherboards. Like: Running without memory or Video and they start and keep running so I guess would be the same with this one,

My guess the problem is the Motherboard? any ideas?

What CPU do you have and are you using the On board Graphics or a Graphics card?

Hi,CPU is  i5 750 I tried no video card, and 2 different  externals video cards

So you do not have a card in the PCI-e slot?

Well then you should know that you can't use the On board Graphics ports because the i5 750 does not have a Graphics controller as the Graphics controller is now in the CPU itself in order to run the On board Graphics ports like a i5-650.

You therefore have no choice but to use a Graphics card but as you said you did try with a card is the 4 pin connector in and or Graphics card (also what card you have could be listed) needs a 6 pin connector?

What PSU make/model have you tried?

Maybe it would be a good idea to start at the beginning and list all of your hardware. It will give us a better idea of the problem being faced.

This is what my Q35 board does on plug-in. It starts for a second, and shuts down, clanking the HDD. When I built it, after this initial powerup, it wouldn't switch on at all. Turned out my power switch was faulty. I wired my reset switch to the power switch header and it fired first time, every time.

There's something that many people get wrong that can cause this. Check that your power switch is working, and that you've not wired it to the wrong pins, or have wired your reset switch to it by mistake! If you think your power switch might be faulty, switch it with your reset switch, see if it fires with that. I rewired a new switch from an old case in my HTPC build, all switches are standard. I never throw wiring out from knackered cases, for times like this, it's good to keep around, LED's too..

I totally agree. It is worth hanging on to the old parts from previous builds for just such an eventuallity, or customisation projects. Never trust the cheap switches that come with most cases. All too often they are dodgy.
