Hi there everyone,
So I recently put together my i5 760 rig and it's looking good for the most part (h55m ud2h). However I just downloaded cpu id before I delved into overclocking and i've noticed that the cpu frequency is around 1.2Ghz, Vcore 0.896V. I got SuperPi going and it ramped up to about 3.2ghz.
I've upgraded from a Pentium 4 so have been a bit out of touch with the latest lol. I know about this Turbo Boost tech they've got on the chips, but what about it lingering at 1.2Ghz? Is it supposed to be an energy saving measure and is there a way to turn it off? Is it perhaps something to do with the bios?
I thought TBoost took the cpu from 2.8ghz and upwards, never downwards! I was just wondering as to how this is going to affect oc'ing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Mark.
