GA-73PVM-S2H freezing at post
Pottypete:
Hi All
Any advice would be much appreciated for this intermittent boot issue,
GA-73PVM-S2H mobo, F8 bios, win xp home sp2,
mobo at post freezes after detecting memory,(I get 1 beep), detecting drives freezes,
It only happens on occassions,
I have re flashed the bios,
Checked Psu drives and all connections, reset bios,
Any idears??????

So it sometimes freezes after detecting memory and sometimes freezes after detecting HDD? Have you tired putting memory in different slots/putting HDD SATA (prosuming its sata) into a different port. If so have you run memtest and HDD diagnostics (run extendend test.) Although you have reflashed to latest BIOS have you tried clearing the CMOS either by moving the clear cmos jumper or removing battery for 15mins or so. Be warned though as this resets everything back to factory default.
How often does this problem happen?

Why is this thread locked? has it been resolved?

Don't blame me guys, was it something I posted wrong!!,
The problem only happens on first power up in the morning,
I have checked hdd with man diagnostics,
run MeM test for 4 hrs, Ok no errors,
put memory in 2nd slot, and run MeM test again, no errors,
reseated all connections,
reset bios, removed bios battery for 1 hr, and cleared with jumper,
reseated CPU and cooler with new Artic Silver,
will have to give it asprin I think, or drag n drop,
If it happens thurs morning I will do a reinstall, and plague Microsoft,
Cheers
