GA-73PVM-S2H freezing at post
oggmonster:
Hmm very strange. There probably won't be much point reinstalling windows as you said it freezes at post? Could well be a faulty mobo :-\
FluX:
I don't know if this is applicable, but I had a similar problem once, and what it turned out to be was the power connector to the graphics card wasn't connected properly. I hadn't latched it in properly, and must have knocked it whilst fiddling around inside the case.
This would happen... press power button, PC would come on, lights on etc, fans going, but no beep, no boot screen (i think) then I noticed the connector half hanging out the socket.
Everything been fine since
oggmonster:
Hmm seems unlikely as he said hes checked all connections. Its possible though I guess. Though saying that he only has the problem from cold boot, not consistantly (from what I understand)
Pottypete:
Hi flux
O/B graphics,
I uninstalled the pci-e card in case that was a problem,
Just seems to be fist cold boot of the day, I leave the mains power lead on whist not being used,
Just to earth the case while i'm poking around,
Don't won't to rma it again, this is the mobo that I had rma'd for zif socket problem a few weeks ago,
I can live with this cold boot problem tho, rigs only on in my smoking Den outside ::)
Cheers
Sorry oggmonster posted over you, one finger typist here
oggmonster:
No worries! ;D Maybe you could try fully turning machine off (even at mains) at night. Then in the morning switch everything on and see what happens?
