hi i have at the mo GA-MA785GT-UD3H & gigabyte HD 5770
what i want to know is if i get another 5770 will i be able to setup crossfire on this mother board iv done alot of searching but cant fine a definitive answer yes or no
if anyone could post any reports os tests would be nice

Hi and welcome to the forum.

According to that the board will take Hybrid Crossfire which generally means that if your CPU supports it you can Crossfire the onboard graphics and the GPU card. Even if you can put two cards on the board it will mean only one will run at x16 the other would run at x4 at best and would also disable the other x1 slots.

Iv read all the specs for this mobo & the notes, im not 100% sure that this motherboard will run 2 ati 5770's im just kind of hoping it will.
If it can would i get a performance hit due to the PCI Express x16 running at x4 for the second card.
Or am i just beter of getting a new motherboard.

I don't really think the performance hit is a problem but overall if you can afford a better board then I would go for it and not have the worry of it not taking the second GPU card  or the fact that the slots share bandwidth etc.

You would be better off getting another motherboard one that runs in PCI-e 2.0 x8 x8 mode or better would be best.

This is the bit where i can now start saying things like, i knew it, boohoo and ouch or my pocket can . Just as well i like shopping for parts i just dont like paying.
Any recommends as to which one, i would like to stay with gigabyte just because it will be blue and everything in my pc is blue, i know im sad.

Before making a suggestion with regard to a suitable motherboard, could you post back with the CPU you are using and also any other bits you will be putting onto this new board. I'd hate to suggest one, only to find out it won't take your main recycled parts, that would really have you crying!

GA-890XA-UD3 but if you want x16 x16 mode you need 790FX or 890FX.
