GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 2.0) bios FB,No post,constant power down after 4 seconds

Hi all,
i have a GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 2.0)
6gb kingston Hyper X T1
i7 930
HD5870
Corsair 1000HX

All working fine until last shut down, next boot up never happened   :'(

When i try to power on my mobo powers up for 4-5 seconds then powers off..and then back on again...and then off......and so on.

Tried to clear cmos, remove battery for 30mins or so with total isolation to power.
Try different DDr3,try different cpu(950),try 2 other psu that can confirm work(antec tp 750+ Hiper 650w),try 3 diff GPU but all same,no post.

Have tried all mem slots with 2 diffenet types of confirmed working mem...still no joy :'(

I tried to troubleshoot in instruction manual but nothing....all i get is either 88 or BB flashed on the LED ???

I can confirm that all components i have tried on the gigabyte do actually work, tried in a spare mobo and all fine and working.

I have also reseated the mem and cpu countless times and socket pins are better than perfect,i think its dead myself...anyone? ???

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Bad news I think. It does sound like the motherboard is dead. 88 normally shows a faulty motherboard  as long as it is receiving enough power which your appears to be.

How long have you had it?

Thanks.

If you have only had it that long you can ask the retailer for a replacement board under the Consumer Act. But entirely up to you how you decide to tackle it. Good luck anyway. ;)

Did you try flashing the Bios by using @Bios?

Take it theres nobody in technical services over the weekned then? ;D im  waiting on them.

And the bios question?why you want to know that? is there a problem with the FB bios?

I'm not sure that there is anbody there the rest of the time either ;D No, GGTS is very busy I'm sure but as far as I know they don't work over the weekend.

No he's asking because it is a common problem with people flashing their BIOS using the @BIOS program that is unreliable as it runs on top of the OS. If you want to flash your BIOS with an update use QFlash a BIOS utility that is much safer.

Hey thanks for the help Dark Mantis  ;D

So i want to send my board back for repair/RMA how do i do that?
I contacted technical servies,do they arrange for the RMA?

Yeah i have heard about flashing bios from outside windows is much less risky,it worked fine though from in windows  but next time i will use the other bios update process.

just out of curiosity if you have not sent the board yet, did you try and put your video card in the PCIEX16_2 slot and see if that worked?

Hey mattym75

Yes i allready tried placing a card in the PCIEX16_2 slot, infact just out of curiosity i tried them all,i have 3 graphics cards here which are all working perfectly fine and were actually on the motherboard in question for 2 days before it gave up the ghost.

I have 2 of those cards in the pc im on now and they are fine, also tested the 3rd on this mobo and its also fine,im pretty sure its the mobo.

Thanks for all help guys,i have emailed gigabyte uk and started the RMA process allready took less than 2 minutes ;D
