Hello again, finally updated Bios to F3i thanks to help from here.

  New problem is that I'm loading Windows 7 64-bit, On Raid 0 Sata 6gb 2 x Western Digital 1 Tb 6gb drives.
Followed the manual to the letter, when loading Marvell 91xx 64 bit, It seems to load, then puts up a window saying 'To continue with installation, use the Load driver option to install 32-bit and signed 64-bit drivers.
Will this still work or am I looking at running as 32-bit system.
Been staring at the screen for a few hours while chasing the problem on my old pc.
 Thanks in anticipation, kacee

There's no gentle way to say this so I will be blunt...Forget it! The Marvell 9128 controller chip is a dead loss when it comes to SATA3 speeds. There is no way it will handle a RAID0 array and it can't even keep up with a single SATA3 6GBs drive. Both absic and I bought Western Digital Blacks to RAID up hoping for a good speed increase and in the end found we got better speeds from them on the ICH10R southbridge controller. Sorry to be a killjoy. :-\

Hi there,

Have you got the SATA3 Controller set to IDE?

When I installed a RAID0 Array on the Marvell SATA3 ports on the GA-790XTA-UD4 I got the best results by setting the SATA3 Controller to IDE. After setting up the RAID Array I had no trouble installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and it didn't need any drivers at install.

EDIT: I should point out htat this was with 2 Hitachi SATA2 drives not WD SATA3. As Dark Mantis mentioned, if they are Caviar Black SATA3 HDD's give up!

I've tried all the different marvell drivers I can find and I get the same result every time no matter which version I try.
Been on this for 3 weeks and want to run 64bit on SATA 6gb raid0, thats why I bought the hardware I have
I'm about ready to shelve the whole thing and go back to my old ASUS MB duel core and good old XP pro.
I'll just wait for some better, signed drivers.
Thanks for your help even if it didn't work. kacee

I am really surprised that you are having such problems.

When I set-up a RAID 0 on the GA-790XTA-UD4 Windows 7 didn't ask for any drivers during install which I was expecting it to do. I set the SATA3 controller to Native IDE Mode, created the Array and then just loaded Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit from a USB Drive.

As I stated before, I did have trouble using Western Digital Black 640GB SATA3 (6GB/s) HDD's but this was due to the HDD's not the Marvell Controller.
