GA-EX58-UD5 using 8gb of memory out of 12 gb installed

Hi all,
I just came across problem - i recently bought extra 6gb of RAm ( i already had 6 ) and in windows it's showing that im using 8 gb of 12 gb installed.
So I updated my BIOS through the @BIOS gigabyte software. But nothing changed.

My Specs :
i7 Intel Proccesor 920 @2.67 GHz
Memory : 12 Gb RAM( 6x 2gb )  KIngston 1333
Win7 Home 64 bit edition

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Your first mistake was to use the @BIOS program for the udate. This is very problematic and can cause your motherboard to be bricked so in future make sure you use the BIOS utility QFlash.

For now though we will assume that the flash worked ok as you haven't complained of any other problems.

It is probaly down to either your BIOS settings for the memory or bent pins on the CPU socket.

Can you list your BIOS settings for :

Memory multiplier
Uncore
QPI/Vtt
Memory voltage

and list the memory standard settings off the side of the RAM sticks.

It seems that my comp works fine besides RAM

Info from BIOS :

Memory multiplier Auto

Uncore
   QPI Link Speed 4,8 GHz
   Uncore Frequency 2667 Mhz

QPI/Vtt 1,175V

Memory voltage
   DDR Voltage 1,5V
   Profile QPI Voltage 1,175
   Memory Freuency 1066 Mhz

There were no settings on side of memory besides one like : KVR1333D3N9K3 KIT OF 3   1,5 V
AAny other info was in  type of Assembly Location ( china & taiwan ) and stuff like 99U5458-011.A00LF....

It seems that my 1333 Mhz memory is working at 1066 freq... but do not know it that's the case

Right well because you are using all the slots you are gioing to have to compensate with a bit of extra voltage to make them stable.
Your memory is rated at 1.5V so I would suggest raising that to 1.55V

Change your QPI/Vtt to 1.2V although you can play around with this setting to best suit as long as you keep it within 0.5V of the memory voltage.

If you still have problems you need to change the settings from "Auto" for the memory multiplier and set it manually to 8 then set the uncore to 16 -18 as auto might be setting it to high.
