GA-EX58-UD3R rev2.0 BIOS resets

I've updated the BIOS twice now through qtflash to the new FC bios & all seems to go fine. The PC runsperfect in windows (had it on prime95 for 2 hours, no problems, and used it for gaming), but randomly after being off for awhile I get an error on boot which runs BIOS recovery and resets the BIOS to FA - anyone else suffering from this?

To be honest I'm not overly impressed with the stability of this board so far, as one week in already had this problems, the screaming capaciters (C1E fixed it) and that funny boot thing where it turns on off and on again.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
What you need to do is update the backup BIOS to match the main BIOS. First check that the BIOS are indeed different.

To check, go into the BIOS and on the MAIN page press F9 for system info.   You should see both BIOS versions listed, if they do not match please update the backup BIOS to match the current.

To do that, reboot and where you would normally press DEL to enter the BIOS, instead press Alt + F12, this will flash the Backup BIOS with the MAIN BIOS contents.   Do not worry when you see a recovery comment, that is normal and means it is flashing the backup BIOS.

Ah that explanis it thanks, I'll have a go tonight. What could be causing it though? I am running it overclocked, but I had the first BIOS error before that. Seems odd for windows & prime to have no issues but BIOS to struggle. I thought a possible short, but then surely it'd be doing it everytime I booted.

I would hazzard a guess that when you did the BIOS flash you didnt disable the Keep DMI Data option in the QFlash program and that could be why it is happening. Anyway if you synchronise the two BIOSes we can see if that helps, if not we can reflash using the option I mentioned.

I definatly did clear the DMI, I have no idea what it does but it was in every guide for flashing gigabyte boards so followed that. Hopefully syncing the two will sort it. Thanks for your help.
