using 3 monitors with my HD 5750 silent card

I have two DVI monitors. And one that only has a VGA connection.

I bought the gigabyte HD 5750 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3402#ov thinking that since it had two DVI outputs, as well as a VGA out, that i could use all 3. Well, it looks like i dun goofed. I'm running win 7 32, and when i try to extend my desktop to the 3rd monitor,  it wont allow it. Neither will the cards control center "catalyst". 

Well, with research, the only thing i can come up with is either getting a second card and connecting them via crossfire, or using this adaptor recommended by someone in another forum.

although, i have no idea how or why it makes it work, or how it connects.

There is no way to do this with some software?

If windows only recognizes 2 monitors, then how are people with 2 video cards doing 3 monitors?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I think the only way you will get it to work is by using the adapter or a monitor that supports a DisplayPort connection. These cards support three monitors but one of them must be DisplayPort.

how exactly does this display port thing work. i keep hearing about it.  ive never seen a monitor that has a display port.

No neither have I but they are around. They usually cost just a little more than an ordinary monitor and the connection is like a smaller HDMI port.

i dont get how changing the connection from VGA to display port would make my monitor work. My monitor already has VGA...and my grpahics card has 2 DVI...... 1VGA..and 1 HDMI.  Its not a hardware issue, its a software issue ( windows).

The connections are all there, the problem is windows wont allow me to use 3 monitors.

It is NOT a Windows problem at all.
The problem lies with the hardware in that it can only support two outputs at once. If you check in your manual on page 12 it gives you the different options as can be seen bleow.  http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/vga_manual_r575sl-1gi_e.pdf

Yes I am afraid so, unless your motherboard supports onboard graphics as well.

i have the gigabyte EX58-UD5...does it have on board graphics?
