Cannot install my soundcard on my x58 gigabyte or get my mic to work

Can someone  help me I have had a lot of hardware problems with this mother board I had to keep returning to get another one because the power plug slot on the mobo was half ass attached to it.Now I can't install any soundcard to it it just keeps saying my soundcards cannot be detected on my motherboard. I also cant get my mic to work no matter which slot I insert it.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I am assuming that if the soundcard hasn't been installed properly the mic isn't going to work anyway.

What soundcard have you got and with what connection?

I have a built in Realtek Digital output. I get normal sound regardless I do have separate slots on the mobo for the mic and speakers, I just can't get any sound from the mic, though my headphones and speakers work when I connect them separately. I have a  Creative Sound blaster live 5.1 sound card, It connects through PCI.

Well you can't have them both running happily at the same time so you are going to have to disable the onboard sound through the BIOS.
