GA-H55M-USB3 Motherboard turn off and on

Hi Everyone

I have just bought this Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 (2.0) motherboard. I have installed an Intel i5 760 2.8GHz processor, and two 4GB ADATA AD3U1333C4G9-B Modules. After installing the rest of the hardware and ensuring that all SATA, Molex and ATX power cables were connected, I turn the computer on, but a few seconds later it turned off again.

I check that the CPU was supported by the board and check in the motherboard book that I installed the CPU correctly. I then remove the graphics card, optical drives, so only the memory, CPU and HDD were still receiving power (Power supply is an Icute AP-850AS 850w). It was still  turning off and on  again,  so I checked that the power supply was working by installing it on another system, and it work perfectly. So I check other posts on the forum and they stated that the memory modules need to be installed in the first two memory mounts on the board (I had installed them in the two blue modules slots for the dual channel benefits), I tried installing the modules in the first two slots, then the second two, and they using the colour code system but still didn't fix the problem.  

I'm completely stumped, and I was hoping someone would know if there's a way to fix the problem or if I should just get a refund?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Firstly the memory should be inserted in the white slots.

Secondly the PSU you are using is not up to much and there are many complaints on the web about them failing. I would trya nd get it changed for a decent make/model if you cna and look for something that is single 12v rail if possible.

Yes, white slots only for sure, if you are using one or two modules.

I used to experience the same thing.
Once, it was memory problem. But this problem of yours sounds like a BIOS setting problem.

do you have any other PSU, preferably the standard one - normally 500W? If you do, use that to boot your computer. And then load fail-safe and load optimised from your BIOS. Restart and then use the iCute PSU.

Yes, i experienced this several times. I thought my PSU was broken. It was true the first time. The replacement PSU did the same thing though, only that it can power up the other MB. Until I boot up using other PSU and load fail-safe and load optimised

If you don't have the other PSU, I can't say much. Probably your best bet is to borrow someone's
