Corsair XMS2 memory compatible?

Hello.

Can gigabyte tell me if my CM2X1024-6400 - 1GB Corsair XMS2 memory, is  compatible with the GA-G41M-ES2L or the GA-G31M-ES2L?

It's 2x1GB.

 I have had a look on the forum but could not find anything and have looked at the memory list but they are not up to date.

It's seems to show the G41 don't support them but it's newer, so can't see why not.

Well the memory you quoted isn't going to be compatible with the G41 chipset motherboards as it is DDR3 on there. I have copied the list of compatible memory from the Corsair website for the G31 board.

Thanks for letting me know that the GA-G41M-ES2L is DDR3 but there are many retailers that say it's DDR2 and even both. So some confuson.

Are these retailers wrong about it being DDR2 then?

Edit. Hope you don't mind me posting a link but this retailer says DDR2.

The trouble is often the retailers are not as careful as they could be when posting the details of certain items on their websites. I wouls rathewr trust the manufacturer.

 Thanks but did you not notice that it says DDR2?

Yes the sockets are definitely DDR2.
