P55-USB3 Rev 2.0 BSOD 0x00000124 Win7x64
« on: February 07, 2011, 09:39:52 am »
Hello

Spec:
i860 I7
P55-USB3 REV 2.0 Bios F9
16 gb Kingston 1333 CL9 (4x4gb) DB sided
XFX5770 1GB .
3 x Seagate 500gb(SATA/ACHI)
1 x SATA Samsung DVD+-(SATA)

I get a BSOD each time i try to cold boot Win7x64......BSOD 0x00000124
Win XP SP3 boots fine...no BSOD...no issue, can load the system 100%, just works fine.

After 10-20 reboots and BSOD´s Win7x64 suddently works ok and runs fine, until 16 hour cool down...it starts all over again.

Tried reinstall but runs into BSOD 0x00000124 after the system cools down, and starts the next day.

also tried to migrate/reinstall from dvd the Win7x64 to another HD....no luck still the same...

Will now test with Win7x86 to see if that runs fine...

BSOD 0x00000124 Help please, need Win7x64 for testing purpose.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

A 124 stop code on a BSOD normally means that your memory isnt set correctly and you need to alter your QPI/Vtt setting. It may be set too high or more likely too low. It will probably need to be put somewhere between 1.2v and 1.4v. You will have to play around with it until you get a stable platform.

F....ing hell, right on....

Boots now.

Could that also been why it "BEEP´s" when running? like every 5-10 minuttes it came with a "BEEP".....
just booted into Win7x64 and it runs ok.

Still beep´s.....

I expect your beeps are a totally different problem.  For that I would suggest checking the alarm settings in your BIOS probably for the fans or temperature.

Is this system specifik or will this be changed in a new BIOS update?

I doubt if it will be changed as it is one of those things that can be specific to each system. Glad the ham and eggs are finished now!

If you can give me a bit more information on the beeps like how often and how many etc. How soon do they start ? What fans etc have you in your system controlled by the motherboard ?

I wouldn't leave the voltage up that high especailly if it isn't even helping.

Can you post your memory settings and uncore, memory multiplier etc here please ?

It helps abit , reboots now only 8-10 reboots in Win7x64 before its running.

lowered it to 1.330V again...just before they go red.
XP SP3 still just runs right on a cold boot.

Attached some pictures:

are these the infos you needed?.

Well your memory frequency is at 10x and yet your Uncore is set at 18x. That should be between 20x and 22x.

As with anything like this you have to adjust more than one setting often.

As I recall you need to go into the BIOS/MIT/Advanced Frequency Settings/Base Clock(BCLK) Control and enable it. That should give you access to other parameters then.
