EP45T UD3P doesn't like 1600 RAM
« on: February 21, 2011, 04:41:03 am »
Hey All,

I have been messing around with overclocking my EP45T-UD3P with F7 bios for a while.

I see there is an F8C bios available but it doesn't say what it does.
1. Does any one have any info on this bios?

Recently I picked up some Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 which is 2x4gb at 1.5v.

System:
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2830mhz default)
Mem: Corsair 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 at 1.5v (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Motherboard: GA-EP45T-UD3P Version 1.0
Power supply: Thermatake 750w

I have tried overclocking this board with a few different memory sets (2x2gb of Corsair and Patriot as well as current ram all rated to work at 1600) but the board just doesn't like 1600 ram.

2. Has anyone had any luck with memory working at 1600mhz in this board?

Curerntly the board is behaving well (passes Intel Burn Test and extended gaming sessions) with the following settings:
CPU: 8.5 x 400 = 3400mhz at 1.325v
RAM: 3.33D divider = 1333mhz at 1.5v
MCH (NB) = 1.2v
PCI Express Frequency = 100
Memory Performance = Standard
(G) MCH Freq Latch = 400
Load Line Calibration = Enabled
Everything else is default voltages.

I have been able to get in to Windows and pass Intel Burn Test with the following settings but the computer won't come out of sleep mode:
CPU: 8 x 450 = 3600mhz at 1.325v
RAM: 3.33D divider = 1500mhz at 1.5v
MCH Core (NB) = 1.2v
CPU Termination = 1.3v (default = 1.2v)
CPU PLL = 1.16v (default = 1.5v)
PCI Express Frequency = 100
Memory Performance = Standard
(G) MCH Freq Latch = 400
Load Line Calibration = Enabled
Everything else is default voltages.

3. Is there anything I can do to make the above system come out of sleep mode? I still want a useable computer, just with a big overclock :)

4. Does anyone know what voltage I could go up to with the Corsair ram that is rated for 1.5v?

Any suggestions would be great!
