Cold Boot / Video
« on: March 06, 2011, 06:26:38 pm »
Motherboard: GA-890GPA-UD3H  Rev. 2
Bios Ver: FF
Ram: Corsair XMS3 1600
Vid Card: XFX 6950

Windows 7 64bit SP1

Ok I have a weird problem that I can figure out, from a cold boot my video card wont diplay without me turn on and off them monitor a couple of times. This is a new video card because the one I bought just befoe this was doing the same thing same card a week ago. So I took it back thinking it was bad. Couple things I have tryed in the bios:

Disables the onboard graphics controller.
PEG Sets the PCI Express graphics card on the PCIEX16 slot as the first display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I would say that the most likely reason is that there is an incompatibility between your graphics card and monitor. It is fairly unusual but does happen on occasion. See if you can borrow a monitor off a friend to try out.

Thanks for the welcome Dark Mantis and the reply

AfterI read your posted it got me thinking what you said and gives me new search criteria, I did read that people where having problems with the upper DVI port not being detected and soforth. Anyways Ill post my findings in the next day or two.

Thanks again
