Internal speaker just one long tone

System has been running along just fine (890FXA-UD5). Had a fan go down so replaced it. When unit powered back up it seemed normal ending in the Win7 desktop. I noticed a tone and narrowed it down to the speaker. Pulled the plug and it stopped. Plugged it back in and the tone reappeared. Pulled the power plug to the fan and the tone continued. So its not the fan. Memory numbers are correct and all 4 cores are showing up. I do NOT have the cabinet switch wired in and it is so noted in the bios setup. Any ideas come to mind. Again, tone stays on continuously. THANKS for any answers.

Hi what fan was it that failed and needed replacing?

I would suggest that you check all your power cables by removing and refitting them. The same with the memory modules.

It was the rear 120 x 120 exhaust fan. I will check the items you mentioned. THANK YOU..

Failing those causing the problem try and see if there is anything else you could have moved like the graphics card etc while doing the replacement.

I'd still suspect the fan (I've been into the bios to confirm this). If the new fan has a faulty sensor then if would appear to the mobo as not being there. The same if you've plugged the fan into a different header. I suggest going into the bios - PC Health Status and dissabling all the fan warnings (just as a diagnostic step). I don't know what the temperature warning sounds like, if it's a continuous tone then this should be looked into too.

I would doubt that the rear case fan is even attached to the motherboard header. It would be much more likely to be connected driectly to the PSU. But worth checking if it is.
