What is the best ram currently for 890-gpa-ud3h/1090t?

I really did search the boards for an answer, but so many hits for keywords. Anyway, I would like to treat this rig to some really good ram, maby even 16 gig if I can afford it. Any suggestions? My set-up in sig...Thanks

Because you are in the USA it is a bit hard to give good advice regarding the best buy as your deals are so much different to ours. Normally I would suggest Corsair Vengeance memory sticks as they offer great value for money over here at 8 Gb kit for around £90 which is cheap.

Actually the ones I was talking about are the slightly cheaper version of them the C9 ones. They are slightly looser timings but not as expensive so it would be a case of make your choice. Both absic the AMD moderator and myself have used these for builds recently and have been very impressed with them. Obviously if performance is your first thought them the C8 ones you posted are even better.

I know you want the best...

But...if you want to save a little and have something comparable, you may want to consider the Patriot Sector 5's.

I just picked up brand new, factory sealed set of 8gb for $30!  But it is only 1333 MHz.  Still for $30, I have no complaints whatsoever!

I know this will make DM green with envy!

Well I am sure they are nice RAM. Personally I am not that impressed by G-Skill but that shouldn't put you off. They do say they are specifically designed for the second generation Intel  series.

That is great RAM at a great price with very good latencies too!

Ah, I see.  Yes, you are right...very limited list.  And many other non-tested RAM works just fine...I hope it will work out for you!

Some motherboards are more sensitive than others.  I had a big challenge with the P55A-UD3 mobo.  It would BSOD continuously when I used non QVL RAM.  It was deeply frustrating....finally solved the problem once I found RAM on the QVL.

But my 890XA-UD3 was much more forgiving and accepted a non QVL listed RAM on the first shot and has never given me any problems.  My P67A-UD3-B3 also readily accepted non listed RAM the first shot and has worked flawlessly!  I actually saw a review on New Egg that implicitly stated that specific RAM [CMX4GX3M2A1600C9] worked flawlessly on that specific mobo [P67A-UD3-B3].  Sure enough, it works perfect!

You might want to check various forums/reviews and find people who have successfully used that specific RAM on your specific mobo before you purchase that RAM.

Save yourself the time and frustration so many of us have gone through!
