A little Windows 7 and IE9 sound question

Well, she seems like a wonderful wife and I am glad she was not in Japan when the earthquake and tsunami hit!

I just downloaded and installed IE9 and immediately the problems began...

First, I could no longer move any of the icons on the desktop to the trash bin...

Then, I other hard drives began to freeze up and act up!

Auuugghhhhhhh!  Everything was working perfect before this...

I do not easily blame system problems on IE, but in the past, IE has burned me so many times that I decided not to install it again.

Well, believing the best about people, I was thinking maybe MS finally go their act together with their new IE9.

Yes I would have agreed with you a few weeks ago Soar, I downloaded and installed it on my main machine and almost instantly started getting problems and lockups so off it came again and I went back to IE8 which I have been using for ages with no probs. However when I set up the review system I ran update and it offered to put on IE9 and with some trepidation I agreed. Well it seems to be fine on that system so far. We shall see how it pans out.

The review system is the one I have posted on here already the GA-P67A-UD5 and I was referring to the standard Windows update.

I now have IE9 running on a laptop with Windows7 Home Premium, also on my main rig running 7 Ultimate (both are 64bit OS) without any major issues.
Both systems also have the latest MS updates.

Hmmmmm....interesting.  Well, perhaps it is something on my system that I am not aware of.  I will definitely look into it.

You know, many, many people here in the US avoid IE due to security and other issues.  Firefox and Google Chrome are big here now.

I used Google Chrome for a few months but it began to crash consistently.  Fire Fox's new version 4 seems to do ok.

You are saying the new IE9 is working well for you?

I tend to prefer Google chrome as my browser of choice Soar, but I also have Firefox 4 and IE9 installed and tend to jump between browsers, depending on what sites I am visiting.

I have not encountered crash issues with any of the browsers but, I could just be lucky. Of course, I don't visit sites such as: Madam Fifi's Den of Erotic Delights and I try to avoid websites that I believe could carry potential threats to the OS.

Another potential problem with web browsers can come from the annoying toolbars that almost every piece of software you install wants to add. These can cause browser instability and I make sure that I never install them to avoid such issues.

Agreed, I never install any of those toolbars as they just eat up your desktop and resources. PITA.
