Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H Please help?
« on: April 26, 2011, 08:29:04 am »
I've just bought the Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H (Rev 3.1) motherborad.

To make the topic simple I've encountered one problem with the computer startup......the BIOS screen does not show up on the monitor (yes its connected)......ive even gone back to Frys Electronics and exchanged the motherboard for a new one but it still does the same thing :(

Can anyone please help me out?

Thanks but....

Which revision is your motherboard?
Which BE Phenom are you using?

Have you tried using just the On-board graphics and removing the 5450 GPU?
What make of monitor are you using?

I have removed the graphic card and tried without it and it still does the same thing (the motherboard is revision 3.1)

I have a standard monitor which shouldn't really be a problem......to make sure that it wasn't the monitor I tried it on an HD monitor which gave me the same results.

AMD Phenom II x4 Processor (Black Edition) 3.4 GHz True Quad-Core Design
8.0 MB Total Cache
Socket AM3 W/Heat Sink Fan

When you power up the PC are you getting any POST beeps from the motherboard speaker? There isn't one built into the board so you have to make sure you attach one. If you are getting some beeps, what are they?

Have you tried building the PC outside of the case, on a cardboard box to eliminate the possibility of the motherboard shorting out? If not then this would be the best thing to do next.

Is your RAM one 4 Gig module or two 2 gig sticks? If it is 2 x 2 Gig sticks try removing one of the RAM modules from the motherboard and see if you can get it to boot.
