Hi, i need help with my problem, i try find the same problem on internet but i could find anything.

after 3 yers using GA-M56S-S3 star my problem. When i start PC, after 1-2 minutes PC shut down. I try clear all in PC, nothing. I try change power supply, nothing. When i start PC and go to BIOS i see tepmerature 35-40 °C on CPU. After 1 minutes is temperature 100+ °C and PC shut down. Its possible that the MB is crash? Or cant be problem on CPU?

I using  GA-M56S-S3 , CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+  Black Edition , FAN Artic cooling freezer 64 and 400W power supply.

EDIT: i try flash BIOS on latest version and chipset flash too, and nothing.

Hi

Well it sounds like from your description as if it is a heat problem and the system is shutting dpown to prevent damage. I would suggest checking all your fans are working and the heatsinks are clean of dust. It might even be worth removing the CPU heatsink and cleaning off the old paste before re-applying a small amount of fresh paste and fixing down again.

I try it. I clear all fans and apply new paste n CPU, but temperature according to BIOS is still too high.

It could be a faulty sensor but I would have doubted that as it shows a lower reading at startup.

Are the case fans all working properly ?

Are you overclocking anything at all ?

yes all fans working right.

no i did not overcloaking.

In that case i would suggest getting hold of a digital thermometer and checking the temperature as closely as you can to the CPU and see if it ties in  with the reported tempertaures.

If i keep my hand on CPU after shut down, CPU its cold. I know is not a good way, but dont have thermometer.

As you say it is not exactly a scientific way of checking but I would have expected it to still feel warm at least. If that is the case then the sensor is reporting the temperture wrongly and the CPU is going into thermal shutdown mode to save damage.
