GTX560 fan speed

Hi all,

After waiting for three days on the dutch Ggts with no response I am hoping I can get a solution here.

I've bought a Gigabyte gtx560Ti OC and I am very pleased with it. Only the minimum fan speed of 40% bothers me. (It's an annoying buzz when watching a movie.)
All I can find is that I have to flash my BIOS. I don't really want to do that.

Is there another solution? If no, does flashing my BIOS voids my warranty? Any advice on how to do so is very welcome.

Afraid of flashing BIOS? Why? it is really simple operation: and no, you dont lost your warranty.
AS I know you cannot lower fun speed below 40% , but in idle it will be perfect to be 30%, since temperature is only 30°C
Maybe you can use utility? Afterburner or Evga Precision?

 Or go the whole-hog and put it on water, you can actually get a self contained unit on the market where the pump, radiator and tank fit into two 5 and a half inch bays.....just a thought.   Flashing does not void warranty and may give you more control over fan speed although remember ... the fan is running at that speed for a reason

Some third party uitilities do give you the ability to control the fan even below 40%. A lot of people have this problem and find that there is no reason for the fan to have a minimum speed so high. I think MSI Afterburner does it but you will need to check as I run Radeons.

With help of good peoples on the net: i slighty upper lover voltage limit, and put fan speed down to 30%. Now it is card I like it

I'm indeed a bit afraid of flashing the BIOS everywhere it says at own risk.
I don't overclock it (yet) and it about 8 C above ambient temperature. So water cooling is a bit overkill.

I am using afterburner to monitor and adjust fan speed but I can't find an option to set it lower than the 40%.

I'm afraid I'll need to flash it.

Dont be afraid, flashing will not eat you   Everything has risk, life is that, but flashing is very, very, very low risk job
Yes, you will need to flash it, that is only solution, even good stuff from Gigybyte provide you that kind of BIOS only way to use it is flashing.

Sounds like they have updated the software/firmware then. That should make a few people happier.

Can you sent that BIOS? On Gigabyte web page there is no new BIOS.

if you get new BIOS from Gigabyte, why is not that new BIOS on download section?

It is possible that it is still undergoing testing at the moment.
