Q2532N - 'Crackly' (Distorted?) Speakers
« on: May 19, 2011, 02:14:49 pm »
Hi all,

As per subject, Q2532N @ 8 days old - first night of 'proper' use post setup / app installs, etc and I noticed this issue.
Even the start up tone of Skype makes them crackle! ... different functions i.e. moving mouse - can also produce this effect.
Issue is not 100% there all the time but generally easy enough to reproduce.
Audio sounds 'tinny' even after playing with the THX software, I'm very much left with that 'something is missing' feeling.
Suffice to say, any music playing certainly sounds lacking.

Surely it gets better than this :(

All these symptoms audible through headphones too of course. Have contacted support for the 'where to from here' in AU and equally I welcome any input from these pages.

Cheers,
brinkerz

I am afraid I can't offer any real help to you regarding the "interferrence" but of course any notebook speaker system is not up to much regardless of the manufacturer's marketing blurb. As SFT_Wolves said it isn't so bad when used with  a better amp and speakers.

sorry, i think it came out wrong! now after the 3rd day the sound i get from the amp/speakers sounds as if it were the laptop speakers (no bass, very bad quality) but just louder! really irritating! and since i love my proper sound this wont work since i know it can do better! :?

No being funny, but what makes you sure it can do better ?

Have you checked all the audio settings in the Control Panel ?

See what sampling it is set to.

Make sure that the input devices(mike etc) are disabled.

Because i had it connected to the amp/speakers before and it sounded just like if i connect my desktop/dvd player/blackberry to it! so it has 2 come from the laptop. i have checked all the settings.

random thought, could skype have anything to do with it? cause the morning after i installed skype this happened! :(

Quite possibly. try uninstalling Skype with a decent uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller to make sure it has all gone.

I think ikt's a bit early to start deciding on where the fault lies as we are not even sure what it is yet.

Personally I think it is a software/configuration issue. Have you tried updating all the drivers for the sound ?
