Z68 voltage readings
« on: May 29, 2011, 02:18:17 am »
I have noticed some issues with some software not reading the system voltages correctly
I attached a screen shot of a bunch of different programs if you look closely the only one that seems to have the correct voltages is easy tune. Is anyone else noticing anything like this

On the Z68 series boards anyway.

Hi

Well all programs differ slightly when reading the sensors depending on the algorythm they use to calculate the figures. The main thing is to make sure that you are using the most up to date versions of these programs if you are using the latest series motherboards.

Hi i have same problem, i have new cpu-z latest version, and not showing the correct voltage, aida 64 and we also do not show the correct voltage..
Is there any program that displays the correct voltage for the chipset z68?
Or perhaps one should wait until new software that supports the chipset z68 for proper voltage readings...
Since the new chipset, so I suppose there will soon be the program that will read the voltage properly..

Yes I am sure all the programmers are working on it now and adapting the current programs to accurately work with the Z68 chipset.

that is what I was wondering. If there are more of us out there with the Z68 chipset and these voltage issues. If anyone has any suggestions or fixes, let me know. Does any one know what chip the Z68 boards use? I would have thought it would have been the same as the p67 and they would work out the same.

Hi again:)
I have  new cpu-z 1.58..The voltage of processor is still the same, not showing the correct voltage...
Other guys, do you have the same problem?
I am waiting for new software, but it never comes.
It s too long for this:(

Not trying to make light of this but do any of you actually have a problem apart from the incorrect voltage being reported ? Does everything work properly ?

Use gigabyte touch bios or easytune6 on windows to check correct vcore voltage or use hwmonitor for the time being.

Well if everything is working correctly and it is only a case of some programs not reporting the voltages properly I would just advise you to wait until an update is available that allows accurate voltage reading.

I have used all of the normal programs to test this and what I found is that AIDA works great. The real issue is that when you pay 300-400 dollars for something you would like it to work. If your gas gauge doesnt work and the car runs wouldnt you still fix it? especially if it is a brand new car, wouldnt you expect it to actually work as advertised. They advertise all of these features that hardly work, if at all. "Making light" of it is of no use to me if the following sentence is not helpful.

There are a lot of issues with this board that GIGABYTE doesnt seem to really care about correcting. When I finally got a response from their tech support after a week of nothing, they sent me a BIOS revision that almost bricked my mainboard. I installed the BIOS according to what they said to do and poof, no voltage at any usb port. I just got lucky that all the default options led me to the old BIOS.

I am sorry to say this, but I honestly havent ever had any issues with any motherboard  like this my gosh going back to my abit bp-6, if you are old enough to have been tinkering with one of those :) and even before that and I havent seen issues like this. Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have only ever purchased abit and then Asus. boards.

So thanks very much for all your replies, any help is help, I guess.

Thanks,
Mike

Nobody is making light of the problem I can assure you but we are also trying to be realistic and can only use tools that are at our disposal now. I agree that the gauge should be accurate and there is nothing stopping you from having the board RMA'd if you so wish. Just from my poiint of view it is a lot of trouble for something that will no doubt be fixed sometime in the near future. ;) If there is anything we can do to help you here rest assured that we will.

in making the "making light" comment I was only repeating something that was already said. What can I RMA this board for? Because the software is broken? Do you have the authority to make such a claim, can I tell the gigabyte tech support next time I get  some canned response that has nothing to do with any question I asked that I was  told here that I can RMA a board because their software doesnt work.
I am sorry, but that doesnt seem as if it is true. I am not trying to be a jerk, but you must understand my frustration.
