Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 rev 1.
« on: May 30, 2011, 04:30:27 pm »
If I have all three ram sticks in my rig, it crashes uncontrollably with BSOD.

Im unable to get the dumps as it crashes as im formatting Windows 7 and corrupts the installation. Its so frustrating im running out of ideas.

MOBO: GA-X58A-UD7
RAM: 6GB CORSAIR TRIPLE CHANNEL (TR3X6G1600C8D)
CPU: Intel i7 930

BIOS: F8m

I have tried trouble shooting as much as I possibly can.. Im going to try clearing the CMOS over night and attempting a fresh installation of Windows 7 tomorrow. Fingers crossed..

Although I highly doubt its going to work if it doesnt whats some advice you can give me ?

I have tried reseating the CPU, fresh installation of Windows, Repositioning RAM sticks (currently in 1,3,5 slots as userguide instructions)

Booting up with two ram sticks is fine.. I can get a clean format then. I had run my PC like this for months although im sick and tired of missing out on my extra 2GB of ram..

PLEASE help me guys !!

You need to test your memory one stick at a time to take it out of the "fix my PC equation" ...Memtest seem to be the industry standard for free home use.......start here and report back with your findings.....good luck Jim!

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

The first thing I would want to check is the memory. Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.

If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

No, don't send back the single stick for RMA as you need a matching set to work reliably and so the set must be kept together. RMA the whole kit.
