Gigabyte G-Power 2 Pro CoolerThis CPU cooler has a new slant literally on the process of cooling both the processor and the surrounding chipsets. Cleverly Gigabyte has designed this to not only remove the heat from the CPU but to also blow the air across the surrounding motherboard area which is something that many other good heatsink/fan combinations fail to do which can cause overheating of the nearby components. Incorporated is a 120mm curved bladed fan and five 8mm heatpipes to help quickly dissipate the processor's heat output. At only 590gms it belies it's power as it seems quite light compared to some of the gargantuan opposition.
It can be fitted to just about any motherboard socket as it comes complete with a set of mounting brakets. It is also possible to locate in any direction on most boards making customising of the cooling options even more diverse.
The fan comes with blue LEDs installed and the cable is already braided (black) and of a decent length which is nice to see as standard. The standard fitting is to connect to a motherboard CPU header but even this has been thought out thoroughly and the option to connect instead to a molex socket on the PSU via a speed limiting Y-adapter with either 12v or 5v output giving even more control giving a full and roughly half speed options. This enables the user to manually reduce the noise if wanted whilst still maintaining a good airflow.
This unit is well thought out and very expansive in it's standard form.
