h67a-ud3h-b3 CD\DVD Installation
« on: June 05, 2011, 02:44:00 am »
It's been about 5 years since I built my own system and I'm almost embarrased about asking this question. However, I'm completely confused and the user's manual is no help. I am trying to move over a DVD-R drive frpm my old system to my new one. Where in the heck do I connect my DVD drive to the MB. My last machine has a ribbon cable for CD\DVD drives and a floppy. There is no ribbon cable on th h67a-ud3h-b3. Can someone help?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I am afraid that you are on to a loser here my friend. The two are not compatible as the optical drive you want to use is the PATA IDE spec and the new boards only support the SATA spec. I would just advise purchasing a new SATA optical drive as they are very cheap now and the other one must have been at the end of it's life anyway.
