Okay, I found out what is happening .... I don't know if I should feel stupid, or what .... but I think this behavior should be mentioned in the documentation (it is not) and/or maybe with some screen message .... BUT .... installing EasyTune6 creates a desktop shortcut .... and you would think that clicking on this shortcut would launch the applications (right ) ..... well, it doesn't, clicking on the desktop shortcut then creates a Taskbar icon, and it is hidden by windows by default (at least on my system) .... I just happened to be messing with my TaskBar configuration and noticed this icon I didn't recognize, I clicked it and the EasyTune6 screen appeared. So all that clicking the EasyTune desktop shortcut does is to add an icon to the TaskBar, which on my system was a hidden icon that I couldn't see being added. Maybe this was the same behavior that others were getting when they also thought that the program was not running for them.
TDS,
Yes, I found the same exact situation when I have installed ET6. Please realize that it is much better to do your overclocking and tweaking in the BIOS rather than with ET6.
I have tried ET6 on various builds for years now. On a few of the builds, it worked well. On other builds, it was a complete nightmare!
Example: Most of my systems were working absolutely flawlessly, then, after installing ET6, BSOD's non-stop and terrible instability. What made it really frustrating was on a number of the builds, the instability issues remained even after the uninstall. Thus, I had to reformat and reinstall Windows all over again.
I am not sure why these discrepancies occurred, but now I just do not place my systems at risk any longer...it was like playing Russian Roulette.
You will discover most of the mod's here recommend you do not use it...and they have good reason for such advice.
Hope this helps!
