Dear Forum,
Question 1:
Does the Gigabyte motherboard GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 support:
1) Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) ?
2) Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) ?
Question 2: Which of the above is enabled by the following BIOS setting ?:
MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T) / Miscellaneous Settings / Virtualization Technology
Question 3: If this motherboard supports both VT-x and VT-d technologies, then why is there only one virtualization setting in the BIOS ?
Question 4: Does the latest BIOS account for the fact that some Intel CPUs (such as the i7 2600K) do not support VT-d, and change the available BIOS options accordingly ?
Question 5: Where can I request a BIOS version with separate VT-x and VT-d options ?
Note: All this info should be in the manual, yet it is not.
George
P.S.
Has anyone experienced a sluggish, slow, stuttering performance with intermittent freezes of both the Host and Guest systems, on VMWare Workstation v7.1.4 and Sandy Bridge i7 2600K CPU with "Virtualization Technology" option enabled in the BIOS ?
