Hi all i have some compatability questions regarding my M.B.

The M.B. is G41M-ES2L Rev 1.1 Bios F6

Will this Board properly run a DX11 PCIe graphics card providing i have the correct power supply?

Are DX11 cards backwards compatable with DX10 games/M.B.'s ?

Is my motherboard compatable with Windows7 64bit or Vista 64bit ?

My power supply(on order to replace stock power supply) is a Winpower plus 750w with 4 12v rails.

O.S. is Vista 32bit

I have 4Gb ram (2x 2Gb) hence wanting to go 64 bit to make the most of my Ram.

The processor is a Intel 2 Quadcore Q8200 @2.33 GHz

What would be the best possible Graphics card to buy for this setup ? & what would be the best Graphics card around my £100 budget ?
I would like to be able to play Crysis2 for instance.

Answers much appreciated as i am no expert in these matters.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Your motherboard shoukld run a DX11 card without any problems and a DirectX11 card is compatible with games etc that were certified for DX10 or previous as it would be backwards compatible.

Your hardware should be fine running a 64 bit operating system like Win7.

Your PSU that you have ordered should be fine depending on what card you purchase it is just that it has the 12v rail split into 4 which is not ideal and a single 12v rail is better.

If you are looking at a particular budget I would suggest going for an AMD Radeon based card and just get the best one you can for the money you have to spend.

I was thinking of getting the NVIIA GTX550Ti graphics card, im hoping my system would be ok to support that card. I was lead to believe the 12v rails on my PSU were separated 4 rails.
I will also likely purchase Windows 7 & install the 64bit version during the price drop as windows 8 is coming.
