X58A-UD7 and RAM (TEAM XTREEM) speed problem!
« on: June 16, 2011, 08:50:01 am »
Hi,

My PC is;

X58A-UD7 Mainboard
i7 950 Intel CPU
Odin 800W PSU

win7 64bit OS

Bios version: FD8

I use Team xtreem RAM   DDR3 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 1.65 volt (X.M.P)      (3x2gb triple)  2 set (total: 12Gb)

My ram is gigabyte memory support list:
Team TXD36144M1600HC8TC-D DS ET TA

System opens 1066MHz (default)
I use to do 1666Mhz (manual multiplier/timing or select X.M.P. profile) system crash (I see bootscreen and after reset) :-[

in the same way; 1333Mhz but it also fails. (I see sometime windows screen)

I bought 2 pieces of the same motherboard. :-\

Thank you for helping.

Murat

Hi

I am not familiar with this memory in particular but ity is possible that one or more of the sticks is faulty even though they are new. This takes a while but try following this test procedure:

Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.

If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

Thank you for quick answer.

I have tried and all stick is good. (no error)

And  I put only one memory module, restart, set bios (select X.M.P.) but the same result.

I change QPI/Vtt voltage (set 1.415V)   same problem...

If you have suggestions, can I try.

Thanks.

Murat

Have you tested each module for 10 complete loops/cycles It is just that I wouldn't have thought that you have had the time yet to do it properly. Also the top photo only shows one pass.

The thing is if the test isn't done properly it is worthless and you are cheating only yourself. I can only advise you on what to do, if you don't want to take that advice that is your choice. :-\
