990fx-ud5 lan issues

I am receiving the error: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. IF Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable".

When I look in device manager the network adapter is not even listed. I have tried uninstalling driver and reinstalling, the error still occurs. I have tried clearing CMOS and still receive the error. I have tried other methods as stated in other forums such as remove the RAM for a couple of minutes. This issue is very frustrating.

If anyone else has any other ideas let me know as soon as possible, as might just return the board.

which BIOS version are you running? The newest version is F4 which you can download from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3891&dl=1#bios

You don't say which OS you are running but also check to see if you have the latest drivers as new ones for the  LAN were released a few days ago.

Sorry..I am running Window 7 Professional 64 bit. I flash the bios to F3 a few weeks ago, but did not realize there was a new one. I will flash to it when I get home. Thanks.

I updated the lan driver and the BIOS. I am still having the same problem. Should I just return the board? I don't know what else can be done, I even tried a couple of different ethernet cables. This is getting frustrated..

Had same problem.

Solution I got from internet was that to so called reset your MOBO. Unplug from wall socket, pull out RAM and let it saty for about 10 min.
When starting PC after putting all back the network controller is there.
Its gone because network controller from Realtek automatically has set to go to sleep mode to save power.
So after your controller is back go to,
*Control Panel
*System and security
*Device manager
*Network adapters
*Realtek Network Controller
*Chose Power management tab
*Untick ''allow the computer to turn off this device to save power''

After this your set and no more problem.

That makes sense ok. An awful lot of problems on today's systems are caused by power saving settings is some form or another.  Saving the planet gives everyone  right headaches!
