Hello,

Motherboard: GA-Z68A-D3-B3
Link: http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3863&dl=1#dl

I am currently having some problems detecting my HDD, my BIOS option - PCH SATA CONTROL MODE is set IDE, when changing it to anything else this does not work. This is giving me some problems when installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. So When going to the website to try and download a driver for SATA/RAID I get *.exe files which I cant use in the Win7 install process of "Select the driver to be installed".
EDIT: Also the provided CD with drivers does not have any drivers compatible with the hardware on my computer. My HDD is a Seagate 1000gb SATA 6/gbs

Any help would be appreciated :)
Thank you for your time.

  • A yoyo uses all three fundermental laws of phisics

Just to go back to bsics......just in case!.... reboot,.....go  in to BIOS and load Optimized defaults ..... save and reboot.........go into BIOS again ....if in IDE reset to ACHI and what ever else you need depending on your setup........."Optimized defaults" tells your BIOS to goes a huntin for everything in your box..........this will give you the best chance at getting all your kit recognized by the Motherboard......good start anyway!

If you have set up your system in IDE mode then it wont work if you change it to something else.

Did you download the drivers from the Gigabyte site ?  http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3863&dl=1#driver
as they should be your safest bet.

I find it hard to believe that the supplied CD doesn't include drivers for your hardware. Have you checked it is for your motherboard ?
