GA-P67A-UD3 SB 2600K CPU CLOCK RATIO 3.8GHz?!

GA-P67A-UD3 SB 2600K CPU CLOCK RATIO 3.8GHz?!
« on: July 28, 2011, 10:22:00 pm »
Hello, GIGABYTE and everyone. I have just updated the BIOS to F5 and I checked and saw that CPU CLOCK RATIO showed me it was at 3.8GHz. I did set it at 3.4GHz and I can not change it to 3.4GHz. Something goes wrong? If I go back to F4 it seems to be normal. Am I the only one? I can change it to 3.9, 4.0... but I can not set 3.7, 3.6... 3.4! :D Thank you.

P.S: I always choose GIGABYTE since 2001. ;)

    Welcome sergeybykov

Not too familiar with this board but is it possible that 3.4Ghz is your BIOS configured/set speed and 3.8Mhz is the Turbo-boost speed assuming you have turbo-boost enabled ?

Hello, Aussie Allan. Thank you for your reply. In BIOS it shows me it as current CPU frequency at 3.8GHz after I updated the BIOS to F5. I disabled TURBO BOOST TECHONOLOGY. But If I do not change the parameters and save them the CPU frequency is still at 3.4GHz and I tried and noticed that If I do set the CPU frequency with  TOUCH BIOS in Win 7 x86 I can set it to 3.4GHz. Just in BIOS I can not set it to 3.4GHz. Just I would know why this happened to my M/B with F5. :) Thank you for reply again, Mr. Aussie Allan. Have a nice day/evening. ;)

Hi

From what you have said I think it is a BIOS issue and should be rectified in the next update. You can contact GGTS and tell them just to make sure that they are aware of this error.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

Hello. I've found this in the BIOS. If I choose Disabled to Extreme Memory Profile(X.M.P.) it automatically shows me 3.4GHz and If I choose profile1(Enabled) it shows 3.8GHz again. It is interesting. With F4 it was not like this.  :D 1600MHz <--> 1333MHz

Your memory obviously support XMP profiles.........you could try turning off XMP and manually imputing all the memory data and see if there's a difference!
