Hi
I'm looking into a new motherboard. Is there an explanation what the different letters in the model name stands for? If yes - can I read about it somewhere?
Hi psnabe,
Your question for the knowledgeable person, is a bit naive.
But if I put in the context of a field not familiar with business development and marketing of motherboards, I understand your situation.
Each company develops a variety of motherboard and each competes with other companies.
Often models cm of the same company are fighting with one another for reasons of either marketing, or upgrade to version change material.
Where appropriate, the name of an inch can highlight:
GA for the name of the company. Obviously.
Z68 for the version of the chipset developed by Intel.
MX for Micro ATX type of motherboard
USB3 to mean that the USB ports are not the type USB3 USB2ou1.1 example.
A major change (commercially by Intel) as currently B3.
I think I have given a good indicator to read the abbreviated name of a model cm.
