Z68x-UD7 & REVO 3X2 Hellp Requested
« on: August 20, 2011, 12:22:44 pm »
Just switched boards over from ASRock Extreme 4 to Giga Z68 UD7
Revo 3x2 works fine on ASRock
Revo works fine in UD& IDE ONLY
Need it to work in AHCI for test purposes
When MOBO is set at AHCI, boot hangs at Revo Bios when posting and will not go further no matter what.

I have read everything and it may be because 2 bios are being used at post.

Can anyone assist?  Is this board def incompatible with SATA?

Which PCI slot are you using?

Board BIOS version?

I have just tried my Revo X2 card now on my review machine (P67A-UD5) and changed it from IDE to AHCI mode with no problem at all. I'm afraid I don't have access to your exact hardware but it is very close.

I have tried all PICe slots and have tried the original bios and most updated on the site... No Go.  I also had no problems with the X2 on my UD7 originally.

Tx ahead.

Have you tried asking on the OCZ forum ? These drives are very new and so I would expect some pitfalls.

Yes posted in OCZ, Sent an e-mail to both Marketing Reps, and finally rebuilt a second system with the ASRock Extreme 4 and Revo 3x2 which had no problems whatsoever working in AHCI, the difference of course being that one system is UEFI BIOS and extremely quick and the Giga.....well.

I understand there are compatibility concerns with some motherboards but found it odd as the original Revo and the Revo x2 had no problems whatsoever in setup and, as a matter of fact, I dont think I had a prob prior to moving to the ASRock either....just when trying to rebuild with the UD7 again.

Are you using the latest BIOS version because as I said the X3 is very new and so maybe it requires a modification in the BIOS.

Hope you don't mind fellers.......Frustrating but OCZ has a new firm on there site for the 2x3 already.........But as usual no release date like most other manufactures

Because you do have access to another board that it does fire-up on .....might be an idea to have a look at the firmware version and flash to the latest if it's behind

Aussie Allan........I'll be watching your progress.........I have the X2 like DM.......Awesome bit of kit!

Update!

Just tried a new f/w out for Giga and it should be posted soon.  Works like a charm!

Excellent news there. The thing is when you are dealing with hardware so newly released it often takes a while to get these issues sorted. ;)
