M68MT-S2 S Series AM3: Built in Casing Speakers not Supported
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:57:44 am »
Hi,

We have launched new computer range with built in speakers casing that is : (http://www.aone.co.uk/ProdInfo.ASP?ProductID=3339). We are using M68MT-S2 S Series AM3 with AMD Phenom/Athlenon II x 4 Processors. Due to some odd reasons, we are unable to hear any sounds from built in speakers  while using WINDOWS 7-64 BIT. I have installed XP on one of it and it was fine but on 5 new machines, Windows 7 is not giving any sound. Can some one please help with this.

Cheers.

Hi there,

The first thing to check is the Default Audio Output settings. Quite often Windows 7 set this to HDMI rather than the Analogue output.

Right click on the Speaker Icon in the Notification area of the Taskbar and click on Playback Devices to check what source is being used.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I would agree with absic as there can be no hardware  reason for the speakers not to work with Windows 7 if they work under XP.
