Question about RIAD (Gigabyte EP45-UD3L)

I was wanting to do raid1 with this motherboard and was told it supported it, now in the manual it says I need a floppy disk for installing on windows XP. Is there any way around that? Can I make a cd or put it on a USB drive? I'm planning on install windows XP 32 Bit as well if that helps. If I must have a floppy please let me know but I really hope there is a way around this for windows xp 32 bit. Here is a link to the manual and such, it starts on page 79 - 88

Theres the link to my mobo and as stated above instructions start at page 79, I read it but I just really wanted to know how it would be possible to do it with maybe a cd or usb drive instead of a floppy...Cause I don't got a floppy drive lol...

  Welcome Blu

 Do both, .... as in mem-stick and CD, .... can't hurt to be prepared.... I still have a floppy drive in a box somewhere ......you never know!

  When it asks for the drivers ..... just point it to where there stored as in what drive letter and even open the folder for it......even if you have to swap it with the install disc to load them.....but try the USB stick first.

Yes it should work fine without a floppy drive. USB or even CD should work instead. Let us know if you hit any snags.

Actually how would I set up the usb drive or the cd? Like how exactly and what folders / drivers would I need? Do I copy them off the motherboard CD or what? Thanks for the replies

Like exactly how do I get the files for it? and which ones do I get? If I read this correctly I can put the mobo disk in my pc and goto the "boot/raid" part of the cd and copy some files over, not sure which files though for xp32bit and how would I make the flash drive bootable? Or does it not have to be bootable since windows just asks for the raid driver files.

  All you need bootable is the windows install DVD/CD .... yes you can use the Giga CD or download the latest drivers from the Giga website to A computer say to the desktop..........unpack them .........then transfer to thumb drive or burn to DVD/CD .... I like to have just the drivers I'm working with to save confusion ...... even then you may have to untick "only show drive for this system" if they don't show,.....this will show all the drivers on the media and you just highlight/choose the correct one , once you do it once you'll find it easy, ...........you can't break anything..
