Easy Tune StabilityLib.dll fails to update
« on: October 01, 2011, 11:38:27 pm »
 Hi,
This might sound simplistic, but I cannot get Easy Tune to start. Because the StabilityLib.dill update fails each time I try install East Tune. Yes, I have done an uninstall and install several times, but the StabilityLib.dll fails on every update.

 Windows Ultimate 64, GA-X58A-UD3R(rev 1.0), W3520 CPU, 6GB Crucial Ballistix PC3-10600, Sparkle GTX 460 Calibre and a Enermax 625W PSU.

Hi

Have you installed the program through a bundled motherboard disk or a downloaded copy ? It might be worth trying the latest version on the website so that you are more sure there isn't a problem with that to start with.

Thanks for the reply DM. I did the Easy Tune Utility install from the MB CD. But, the update for Easy Tune happens after the restart and I believe the update  is downloaded from Gigabyte. It's during  the update that the StabilityLib.dll fails to pass.

I'll do as you suggested and see if I can download the entire Easy Tune utility from the Gigabyte MB site.

 Hi  DM,
I downloaded Easy Tune several times from the Gigabyte MB site and Easy Tune still doesn't start.
And, yes I have done the uninstall of Easy Tune before each fresh install of Easy Tune I downloaded or ran from the CD ( with Control Panel and from within Easy Tune).  And, I have  followed the instructions exactly. So,  it sounds like Easy Tune is something else I will not use on this Gigabyte MB. I pray I never have to download a newer BIOS from Gigabyte. ???

Funny you should say that...... as I was just about to suggest that could be the reason for EasyTune not working properly. It could wel be that you need a newer version of your BIOS. Don't panic though as it is straighforward enough. Download the correct file from the website and then unzip it. Use QFlash the BIOS update utility to run the update.  There is more help and information here to read about how to do this.

 Hi DM,
I followed your instructions to update the MB BIOS from F5 to F6.  But, once again there is no change to Easy Tune starting. When I download Easy Tune from Gigabyte I get the exact same no Easy Tunes start. It  downloads correctly and then upon restart it once again the (2) update dll's are DONE correctly., But, just like before Easy Tune simply doesn't even start. Also, EasyTune fails to start when I do the Easy Tune install from the CD like before with the exact  same StabilityLib.dll failure in the update portion on restart.
I think there must be something in my hardware that is preventing Easy Tunes to work. I didn't list the OCZ Solid 3 60GB SSD boot drive and the WD 500GB HDD connected to 0 and 1 SATA2 ports.

Hi DM,
Google Gigabyte ET6 and StabilityLib.dll to see (ALL} the problems others have had too...

Too play it safe  I deleted (All} the Gigabyte related software I  installed from the CD.

Sensible man! It is the safest thing to do as a lot of these p[rograms will work on their own but cause problems with other things when installed.

I just encountered the same problem.
It occurs after updating from the Gigabyte site.
Tried uninstalling ET6 and installing latest version from Gigabyte.
The install fails with message "Please remove EasyTune6 first". This despite the fact that all trace of ET6 was removed by Revo Pro.
Tried re-install of ET6 from M/B Driver CD and that was successful.
It looks like you cannot easily update or upgrade ET6.
Any advice would be welcomed.

Have at last managed to install latest version of ET6 from the Gigabyte site (B11.0902.1).
I had to first uninstall using REVO Uninstaller, then run Windows Install Clean UP, and then use REGEDIT to remove all references to EasyTune6 from the registry.

I am happy to hear that you managed to get it running  at last. A lot of these programs seem to be getting very fussy when it comes to updating or reinstalling. They wont work properly unless all vestiges of the original version are deleted off the computer before hand.
