Audio Crackling

hey before a couple months something got wrong with my Audio from the PC.

i thought that was some virus, but it didnt. i did reinstalled the OS. but no luck
.
after that i bought new Grafik Card Zotac 550ti AMP Edition. before this card i had MSI RADEON 4870 1gb and i placed tha radeon on other mashine
 with MSI Motherboard. and there was no Audio Crackling.

now i am using GA X58A UD5 Motherboard. allready have the newest drivers installed but nothing got changed. i tried to use the grafik card as audio
device on  a plasma screen.but the same issue I am wondering  what could be

Hi there,

There could be several reasons why you are getting audio crackling from your system the most obvious is a bad earth somewhere. This could be in the way the motherboard is mounted in the case, if it is not seated properly against the back panel or you have used washers between the motherboard and the standoffs for example. It could also be due to the PSU or bad earthing somewhere else in the wiring loop. Have you tried testing things with the motherboard outside the PC Case, on a cardboard box?

Another cause can be due to certain software. Have you installed any of the Gigabyte programmes that are on the install disk? Some of these, especially EasyTune can cause problems.

Are you overclocking anything? This is another area that can introduce problems with audio output.

Have you tried disabling the C1/C3 options in BIOS? Sometimes these features can also interfere with the audio signals.

On a different subject, I notice from your spec's that you have 6 GB of RAM installed but are only running the 32Bit version of Windows. To get the full use of your RAM you need to be running the 64 Bit version as the 32 bit only sees upto 4 GB of RAM. (x86 = 32 bit Operating system)

  is the crackling a constant..... does it get more audible when doing some things? ...... does it kick in as soon as there's power to the system ? ,....or after a certain stage of the boot cycle?

  In other words ....you need to be more descriptive .... you're talking to a dum-arse Aussie here ..... I need lots of info!

Hi

Try and make sure that all the relevant cables are tightly connected an no loose ones. Also make sure that any cables carrying audio are kept away from power cables and if they have to cross them do so at right angles.

Are you having the trouble when using the onboard option or when you are using the dedicated sound card ?

Try removing everything extra on the machine and running with just a basic setup.

Its seems everything okay with the power and the cables. i had 32bit Windows when i noticed that audio crackling then i did reinstall a 64bit Windows but nothing changed. now i am gonna upload a video on YouTube. You could hear this noise by yourself i cannot exactly discribe it

It would be a good idea to turn the stupid music off /down while you are trying to let people hear the problem noise.

that is the point dude, the crackling can be heard by playing some music.if the music is OFF then there is NO CRACKLING,

some smart advice from you  i will appreciate it

No I understand that the music must be on but you couldn't hear anything above the music properly. If you turned it down a bit the crackling should have been clearer to hear. If it is determined by the volume then it is being amplified and hence it is coming from the audio input rather than just the output where you would expect it to be fairly level.

I have to say that I too couldn't really hear what you're talking about and I spend a lot of my time listening to music.

Could you record the video again but using a different audio stream, possibly something less electonic based, a classical piece would be ideal as the crackle won't be so easily lost.

That (the noise) was certainly clearer. It seemed to be evenly timed as far as I could hear, almost like a slow ticking. Try stopping each fan in turn in the machine and anything else like that as it seems funny that it is sort of timed.

well when playing electronic music with more bass can be heard better.
i dont know how to fix it???
is it some hardware issue or bad drivers. If the driver for the Audio output are bad, why thats happening when the HDMI Output from the Grafik Card will be used as a default device? i did plugged it in A/V Receiver and with 5.1 System can be heard better, deaf guy can noticed, that something is wrong 

i am having this Audio Issue since April this Year, everything was okay with the sound, but after restart i noticed during watching a movie that something cracks.

hey folks tnx for trying be helpfull, but the issue with the Auido Crackling is no  more present i did fix it by updating the Bios

Glad you solved your problem alexxx, may be you should have stated your BIOS version in the first place.
