NO POST

hello everyone, i will try and make this short and sweet,  i h ave a  GA-MA790GP-UD4H motherboard, with an AMD Phenom 2 quad core, and a EVGA 260 video card,  4 GIG of corsair RAM, and a corsair 750w power supply.  the machine was working fine in  April of 2009, i then moved to the UK and left the PC there in the US ,  i recently  had the PC shipped to the UK,  so it sat in the US doing nothing at all for at least 18 months, i just got the Desktop this week, i opened it up and cleaned all the dust that was in there, and made sure all the connections where tight,  it hen powered the PC up hoping that it would boot up into Win 7, no such luck, there was not even a POST or beep,  my monitor was just black with a flashing power light. the fans were working and the CPU cooler fans was working so i believe that the motherboard is getting enough power, nothing got fried when i powered up the desktop,  so i am thinking that the BIOS battery has drained itself maybe, i have taken out the video card and memory, and , unplug all the power connection to the hard drive and CD ROM drive, and still no POST, i don't see any damage to the inside of the PC, so if the BIOS battery is drained i guess i am SOL ? any suggestions would be  welcomed,

Hi and welcome.

The first thing that springs to mind is did you alter the input power from 110v to 240v ? If not you need another power supply at the very least.

If you did or it is autosensing then my next guess would be change the motherboard battery (CR2032)

hi  i am not a new member but thanks anyways, from what i understand from the corsair forum i should be able to plug the power supply in the outlet and it should auto sense the line voltage and adjust its self to the correct voltage, but to be on the safe side i used an adapter, a UK to US converter to make sure i did not fry my PC. so i could be possible that the PC is not getting enough voltage, i did notice that while i was in the US there was a delay with the PC turning on, and when i turned it on here in the UK for the first time the delay was not there, the power light came on along with the reset button light, and both stayed on. i will try plugging the power supply directly into the wall outlet, in the AM, to tired to try it tonight, lol.

Hello again, well i went and brought a new CR2032 Battery, and still no POST, i remove Graphics card, and Memory sticks, and still no POST, removed motherboard to check for any cracks or shorts, there was nothing i could see in the way of damage, power supply is powering all the fans. any other suggestions are welcomed,i dont have another machine that i can use parts from to test with.

 i did a little research, i do believe my motherboard is still in warranty, ( purchased march 09) under what conditions does Gigabyte replace motherboards?

ok i am in the process of tearing apart my PC in an effort to determine if my motherboard is bad, i have removed the Video card and memory, i just noticed that while the IDE cable is plugged in to the motherboard the IDE drive cannot be open and both the power and reset LED's are on, once i remove the IDE cable the motherboard the IDE drive can now open and just the power LED is on,

Quick Question. Will gigabyte honor a product that's is possibly still in warranty if the product was brought in one country (US) and the company no longer is supplying the product ( Deactivated. This item is currently out of stock and it may or may not be restocked.) and has now stopped working in another county(UK) ?

I am afraid the short answer is no. You will have to return it to the USA either the retailer or Gigabyte USA.
