Whats the diffrence between 1.66v and 1.5v

The difference is util if you overcloking the CPU and (or) the Ram,
Because when you oc, you adjust a tensions and volts.
So if the Ram have a possibility to up 1.65, this is the best.

But in normal situation, 24h 7day, the Ram is ajusted to 1.5 volts, sometimes 1.45, 1.40 volts. Especially with Sandy Bridge CPU.

We must not forget that Sandy Bridge CPU has one memory controller.

In normal time, the objectives are to have less tension and therefore less the heat to be dissipated by the memory.

When you overclock the ram, there is more heat and of course, we must not damaged the memory.

For the SandyBridge chipset, which is the one you have, I would advise the 1.5v as that is the standard setting and will run with less heat. This voltage is what I use on my SandyBridge board. The 4GB sticks are the best in the "bang per buck" at the moment so I would advise a matched kit of two of these if you want somewhere around 8GB total it is easier to setup than four 2GB modules too.

Was there any reason you went for these as opposed to the Corsair Vengeance modules ?

Okay my mistake i found out that i dont have that ECC ram. I have http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/partsinfo.asp?root=uk&LinkBack=http://www.kingston.com/ukroot&ktcpartno=KVR1333D3N9/2G 8 gigs of that. Also noticed that when i go to my computer and go into that WD drive then my pc does like a jet engine starting sound or something its like 2 hard drives (WD and Samsung 320gb drives) are sleeping or whatever and when i click on them they start up

I am sorry but are you now saying that you don't have the original modules but have these new modules instead ?

If so these new sticks are compatible with your motherboard so I can only suggest that you follow these instructions to see if they are all working alright:

Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.
 
If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

Okay so i took out that WD hard drive from my PC and soo far no problems but i keep testing and i will report back here if any problems come up again but its really wierd if that Hard Drive did all that...

it wouldn't be the first time such things happened. We have had several recently of keyboards being the culprits and they are usually the last thing people think of.

Well what was the problem lol WDC WD3200JS-22PDB0 this hard drive http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.asp?id=42433 is it too slow or too old or w/e i dont even remember when i got it

ok still got same problem.. sound get stuck looping 1 bit or BSOD but action centre wont log the event
