To get the Max out of your setup ....you're going to have to test a few things so you're not chasing your tail and wasting time.....time spent here will save you days in the long run.
First you need to establish if the memory modules are rock solid stable for the clock you have your heart set on......pain in the ICE I know but it will mean Memtest each dimm separately.....10 passes each .... takes a while but critical to establish there the dimms to get you to the high clock
once you get that done, assuming the memory passes OK is disable, Turbo, all "C" states and anything you can think of that will give you fluctuations coming from and to your CPU ...... now your going to set everything to bog , stock, standard so you can generate some "
base-line bench marks" for your system.......these will be invaluable later on .....temps (CPU , cores, bridge,case,... the lot) voltages as well......I like OCCT for this as it has a pretty handy desktop to play with and most things at your fingertips......but use pen and paper as well......records are key........even if it's a stack of loose A4s to jot down settings and bios changes.......you won't remember 10% of them!!!! Especially the next morning.
It's about now you will also have to decide whether you want virtual cores enabled or not........8 cores....better performance....but lower max clocks.....4 cores.......you get the idea.
Another point is the TIM or thermal compound your using ....... never have I used a compound that can beat IC-Diamond......I got 4C lower over Arctic silver5 ......Next.......Read and follow

You can't follow it to the letter as you have a 980, but most of the content is applicable........Post back when you get going and if you have any question .......where here!
Aussie Allan......P.S you might get a little more with 64 bit strip size on the SSD raid0....try it out anyway and (ATTO Benchmark) if you have to bench SSDs.......ATTO is a little less destructive
