no POST on X58A-UD7 rev.2

Hello all!

I have bought a GB X58A-UD7 rev.2 - my first ever GB mobo!

I am having problems with it
it won't POST
I am getting the error code 'C1' - however when it is being displayed, it very briefly flashes something else - it's too fast for me to see
if I unplug all RAM, the error code (C1) stays constant - no flashes or anything

any ideas/help?

I have the GA-X58A-UD7 rev. 1 and in my mind it is even better than the rev.2 m motherboard, but they are both excellent boards. Firstly can you list your hardware that is attached to the board including the PSU please. You can always hit "Pause" when the other error message shows so that you can read it.

  did the rev.1 come with USB3 & SATA3?

ok so the pause button thing doesn't work.. just to clarify: there is no POST - nothing shows on the monitors, nothing at all
when I turn it on, it doesn't even go so far as to get keyboard input

the C1 error code is from the debug LEDs(?)

Check the connections from the PSU.

Try the paperclip test to see if the PSU is running properly.

Disconnect everything that isn't essential for booting and try again.

PSU runs fine - the rig powers on, fans, lights etc all start up - just nothing appears on monitors

I'll disconnect everything un-essential.. tomorrow! bed calls! night night!

No worries we can continue tomorrow.

By the way the revision 1.0 UD7 is exactly the same in as much as SATA3, USB3 etc but it has 24 phase power and a few other things like that which the revision 2.0 doesn't.

im also having this issue with my revision 1 board thing is iv been running this system perfectly fine for nearly 3 years now
all of a sudden it  staarts with the c1 error.

the only things i have changed are an SSD and an additional HD5770 for crossfire but that was months ago

iv tested all RAM sticks without issue and am officially out of ideas plus nothing of much help from old google

any ideas?

Just for information :

Normal POST Codes C1 means  Memory Presence
Description :
First block memory detect
OEM Specific-Test to size on-board
memory. Early chip set initialization
Memory presence test
OEM chip set routines
Clear low 64K of memory
Test first 64K memory.

But I thik C1 is not Error Code, but a Normal Code.

C1 is indeed just a normal code that the system goes through when booting and it is the part where POST is detecting the memory modules. It could be that one of your sticks is faulty or the memory controller is faulty. Try clearing the CMOS and then inserting one stick of RAM into the DDR3_1 slot (first white slot).

Follow these insrtuctions exactly.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least ten minutes before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Opimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self and then press F10 to save and exit.
