Nasty Vdroop! Gigabyte P67A-UD7-B3 Motherboard Tests!!!

Hi guys!

Ive just joined the forum and find it very informative.Thanks to all those concerned.

Ive just got my a P67A-UD7-B3 Motherboard back from RMA. Previous Mobo was the B2 Revision UD7. Now ive been running it through some tests on my 2600k clocked to 4.6Ghz and the vdroop is very bad. Here are some test results ive got. Using Bios versions F5/F6 both with the same results.

1.360 LLC5 set in bios! jumps around at 1.296v 1.308v 1.320v 1.356v under full load.

1.360 LLC6 set in bios! jumps around at 1.320v 1.356v 1.368v 1.380v under full load.

1.360 LLC7 set in bios! jumps around at 1.356v 1.368v 1.380v 1.392v 1.404v under full load.

Now does this look normal for this Motherboard as my B2 revision wasnt this bad, also I have the UD4-B3 Motherboard which also is nowhere near as bad as this.

Does this look like there is actually a problem with this Motherboard?

Hi Buster,  

I do not have a experience with this motherboard....

But I find this :
Have you:
Enable LLC?
set Vcore to "normal" (this will change the dVid with clock setting)?
use the Dynamic Vcore setting  - / + 0.****v  you can get it to not droop nearly at all
I suggest within 0.002v

So modify step by step, and check ....

Hi there!

Thanks for your reply.

If I set Vcore to normal it wont even post, it just loops.
Now on my other Motherboard which is a P67A-UD4-B3, I set the Vcore to 1.360v LLC enabled and underload the lowest the voltage dips to is 1.356 which is exceptable. Where as on my P67A-UD7-B3 the voltage bounces all over the place as the examples in my 1st post. This is why im questioning the Mobo.

But the best is waiting help from other member... like Aussie Allan, Absic, Technology9, Dark Mantis...

In waiting time, describe your hardware configuration exactely... Psu, video card, etc...

Motherboard- P67A-UD7-B3 F6 Bios.

CPU- 2600K

Noctua-  Noctua NH-D14 cooler.

GPU's- 2 x Radeon 5850's in Crossfire.

Hard drives- 1 x Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid Drive 320GB    1 x Seagate Barracuda 1.5 TB

Ram- Corsair Vengeance 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB Memory - DIMM 240-pin - 1600 MHz

PSU- Corsair TX 850w

Optical Drive DVD Writer.

Yes I read these allready Gloup_Gloup.These are not much help really with my Motherboard, But Thanks anyway! 
Why I have asked these questions in this Forum is to see if this much vdroop on a such a performance Motherboard like this is normal?

Also to ask if anybody else has the same Mobo and suffers as much vdroop as mine.This looks excessive to me and not very good for a stable overclock.

My UD4 doesn't perform this bad at half the price. Cheers!
