i think this could be a bent pint, i have circled in green. Can the board be sent to be repaired? photobucket make the original image smaller, i can email the original

There are some definitely damaged pins there.

Yes it is just some alien object. The only thing is it could be causing a short between the pins anyway.

Sorry I am looking at something else as well. The bit where you circled in green is a missing pin! I have circled it in red on the first picture. Gigabyte might repair it for you but you will have to ask them and see what they say.
