GA-Z68AP-D3 Double Booting

GA-Z68AP-D3 Double Booting
« on: January 10, 2012, 08:06:03 am »
2600K + GA-Z68AP-D3 Rev 2.0 + 8GB DDR3

Problem: PC will double boot randomly.

Scenario 1: I turn PC on and press DEL to go into the BIOS Menu. PC restarts and I have to press DEL again to get into the BIOS menu which this time works without it restarting.

Scenario 2: I turn PC on and let it load Windows. During the loading screen (animated windows logo) or after completion of loading, the PC restarts and has to go through the whole boot process again. The Windows did not start up properly menu will will then show up before attempting to load Windows asking me if I would like to do a repair or start up Windows normally. I choose start Windows normally and everything loads up fine to my desktop.

I have done a BIOS update (FB), removed the BIOS battery, loaded optimized and fail safe default BIOS settings, and nothing has yet to fix this problem.

Is this the case of a bad motherboard?

Hi

It sounds to me the same as several other people are having problems with. Check out this thread as there is no point starting a seperate one if it is the same.

I don't get any boot loops. A simple restart fixes my problem...
